Sharing, helping, and welcoming others

Mia and the Moonlight Map

On Halloween night, Mia finds a silver map made of moonlight with three hidden stars in her garden. With help from Ben and Ada, she earns each star by sharing treats, helping Grandpa Lee with his apples, and welcoming a new girl named Lily. The stars light up the garden and reveal a picnic for everyone, showing that sharing, helping, and welcoming make the night shine.

It was Halloween night, and Mia's garden was full of soft lanterns. "Come in, everyone!" she called. "The party is just starting!"

Then something floated down and landed on Mia's hand. It was a map, thin and silver, made all of moonlight.

Three little stars glowed on the map. "Three stars are hiding in my garden," Mia whispered. "I want to find them all!"

"We will help!" said Ben and Ada. Mia held the map high, and the first star began to shine near the apple tree.

Under the tree sat a bowl of treats. Ben reached for it, but Mia saw a small friend standing all alone.

"Let's share," said Mia. She gave the first treat away, and the first star lit up bright and warm.

The map shimmered and showed a new path. The second star glowed beside the old fence.

At the fence, a basket of apples had tipped over. "Grandpa Lee needs help," said Ada.

They picked up every apple and carried the basket to his door. "Thank you!" said Grandpa Lee, and the second star began to glow.

Now only one star was left. The map pointed to the gate, where a shadow stood very still.

It was a new girl, holding her candy bag tight. "Hello," said Mia. "Would you like to join us?"

The new girl smiled. "I'm Lily," she said. Mia took her hand, and the third star blazed like a tiny sun.

All three stars flew up and touched the garden. Light spilled over every bush and tree.

And there, on the grass, was a long picnic blanket covered with treats and lanterns.

"A picnic for all of us!" cried Mia. Everyone sat down together, laughing in the glow.

The moonlight map grew soft and faded away. "Thank you, Mia," it seemed to say.

Mia looked around at her friends, old and new. Sharing, helping, and welcoming had made the night shine.

"Happy Halloween, everyone!" said Mia. And the garden stayed warm and bright all night long.
