Refund Policy

How subscription cancellation, credit balances, failed generations, statutory rights, and payment reviews work.

Last updated:

This Refund Policy explains the current approach to subscriptions, credits, generation failures, and payment reviews. It supplements the Terms of Service. Nothing here limits a consumer right or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Subscription cancellation

You can cancel a subscription from the billing settings when that control is available for your account. Cancellation stops future renewals. It normally does not create a retroactive refund for the billing period that has already started.

After cancellation, access and remaining subscription credits continue through the period already paid for, subject to the account and acceptable-use rules. A downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle. If a payment provider shows a different status, the provider's recorded transaction status may need to be reconciled with our support team.

Credits and unused balances

Credits are a service balance used for eligible generation operations. They have no cash value, are not transferable, and do not become a cash refund merely because they remain unused. Welcome credits and other promotional grants can expire on the schedule shown when they are granted.

Subscription credits are issued according to the active plan and billing cycle. A cancellation does not turn remaining credits into cash. If the product or a plan page states a specific expiry or rollover rule, that rule applies to the relevant credit grant.

Failed or interrupted generations

A generation request can fail because of a provider error, timeout, invalid input, network interruption, or another technical problem. When a request fails after credits were reserved, WhimKid's credit accounting flow returns the relevant reserved credits. This is a credit adjustment, not a refund to the payment card.

Check the credit center after the failure is shown. If the reserved balance has not been returned, email support@whimkid.com with the account email, approximate time, operation type, and any visible error message. Do not send a password, full payment card number, or unnecessary child information.

Payment review requests

If a charge is unexpected, duplicated, not recognised, or related to a service problem, contact support@whimkid.com. Include the account email, payment provider, charge date, amount and currency, and a short description. We may request a receipt or transaction identifier, but we do not need your full card number.

We review requests based on the transaction, the product state, the applicable provider rules, and any mandatory consumer protections. A refund or other remedy may be available when required by law or when we approve it after review. A discretionary refund on one transaction does not create a promise that every later transaction will receive the same outcome.

Statutory rights

Some jurisdictions provide cancellation, withdrawal, conformity, chargeback, or other consumer remedies. Nothing in this policy removes a right that cannot lawfully be waived. The time limit, eligibility, and effect of such a right depend on the law that applies to your purchase.

If you believe a statutory right applies, tell support which country or region applies and what remedy you are requesting. We may need to verify the purchase and account before processing the request.

Processing and timing

Payment refunds are sent through the payment provider that handled the transaction. Once approved and submitted, the provider controls the time required for the funds to appear in the original payment method. Credit adjustments are recorded in the account ledger and may appear before or after a generation error message finishes loading.

We may suspend or limit an account when we detect payment fraud, abuse of refund requests, or activity that violates the Terms. That decision does not remove mandatory consumer rights.

Contact

For a payment review, subscription question, or missing credit adjustment, email support@whimkid.com or use the contact form. Keep the subject line specific, such as “Refund review” or “Generation credits missing,” so the support team can route the request.

How do I request a payment review or refund?
Email support@whimkid.com with the account email, charge date, payment provider, and a short explanation. We will review the request and preserve any mandatory rights available under applicable law.
Does cancelling a subscription refund the current period?
Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not normally create a retroactive refund for the current billing period, and access plus remaining subscription credits continue through the period already paid for.
Are unused credits refundable for cash?
Unused credits have no cash value and are not refundable in cash under the current Terms. Statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
What happens when a generation fails?
When a generation request fails after credits were reserved, the relevant reserved credits are returned by the product’s credit accounting flow. Contact support if the balance does not update after the failure is shown.
