Shape each page before you export

An illustrated draft is a starting point. WhimKid lets you revise the words, work on individual illustrations, and adjust the page layout before saving a finished book. Use the editor to shorten a sentence, move text away from a character's face, or reorder pages when the story reads better in a different sequence.

Three useful editing passes

Read the words aloud. Check names, sentence length, story order, and whether the ending resolves the main event. Edit the text before fine-tuning its placement.
Review the pictures. Compare recurring characters and look for missing props or mismatched scenes. Revise and regenerate an individual illustration when needed, then check its available versions.
Check the layout. Adjust text and image placement. Preview every page, including the cover and back cover, for cropped elements and text that is difficult to read.

If character details keep drifting, return to the character reference workflow before spending more credits on page revisions.

Export the PDF from your own book's reader. The public sample reader does not offer the owner's export controls. Open the downloaded file and check page order, cropping, text size, and the first and last pages before sending it to someone else.

PDF pages are rendered as images. Do not expect selectable text or an editable document inside the PDF; keep the book in WhimKid for later edits. Export preserves the book's page proportions. Check a printer's required dimensions, bleed, resolution, and margins separately before ordering a print or submitting to a publishing platform.

Narration and other outputs

You can add narration and use the available audio and subtitle export options. Video export produces a WebM with composed book pages and audio; it does not animate the characters. Review the available options in your book before choosing a format.
